AAA Mortgages advises businesses on mid-market business funding, the most complex end of the lending work we have done since 1988. This is capital for transactions that do not fit the traditional brokerage mould: funding secured against the business rather than a property, deals that need private and non-bank solutions, and situations where you want an advisor mandated to run the process rather than a form lodged with a panel. Deal sizes typically sit between $5M and $50M or beyond.
When businesses come to us
Businesses arrive at this end of our work when the capital question has outgrown the standard answers. Usually the bank's appetite has run out before the opportunity has, or the security on offer is the business itself rather than a property.
01.
NON-PROPERTY SECURITY
You need capital and the security is not a simple property: cash flow, contracts, equipment or a mix
02.
BANK VS EQUITY
Growth is outpacing what your bank will extend, and giving up equity is too expensive an answer
03.
TIME-SENSITIVE DEAL
A transaction, an acquisition, buyout or restructure, needs funding assembled quickly and quietly
04.
MANDATED ADVISER
You want a mandated advisor running the process end to end, not a broker lodging applications
Mandate, structure, market
01.
The mandate
We are engaged to run the funding process, which starts with understanding the business: the model, the numbers, the transaction and what the capital needs to achieve. Everything is handled in confidence, and nothing approaches a lender until the story holds up to credit scrutiny.
02.
The structure
We design the funding before we shop it. Debt type, security package, term and covenants are decided against what the business can carry and what the transaction needs, because the structure you ask for shapes the answers you get back from every funder.
03.
The market
We run the process across banks, non-bank lenders and private credit, negotiate terms and manage it through to funding. At this end of the market the funder universe is wide and uneven, and knowing who has genuine appetite for your kind of deal is the advantage.
